The Best Way to Pay before You Play

online payments optionsIf you’ve ever played online bingo then chances are you’ve already been exposed to the concept of payment processors. In essence these are simply different accepted methods of processing your deposits and withdrawals at bingo rooms. Today I’d like to talk about your options and how best to select them.

I’m going to start this blog post off by saying that for the most part, all the major online bingo rooms are safe and secure to game at. That is to say that they make use of the highest encryption protocols and Internet security measures to safeguard your personal information. This bodes well for the industry and certainly reassures players. While many players may be blissfully unaware of their banking options at these bingo rooms, it’s important to list what is available as some of them offer added security or extra bonuses for players.

What options do you have at your disposal?

I’ve always been a fan of debit cards as the preferred deposit option. They can be loaded with precisely the amount you wish to spend and no more. These are universally popular methods of payment and are widely accepted across the online bingo realm. But more importantly they’re safe and secure. The likes of Solo, Switch, Maestro, Visa Electron and Delta come to mind.

Credit cards are the other way to go. The difference between a debit and a credit card is that the latter makes use of the bank’s money which you have to pay back at a later stage and at a higher interest. A debit card stores only your money so you can’t effectively go into a negative balance on your account. Nonetheless credit cards are secure methods of payment too. The most popular forms of credit include Visa, Diners Club, American Express and MasterCard. All of your purchases can quickly be matched against your monthly credit card statement and any disputes are easily noticed and corrected.

An even better alternative awaits you…

I’ve come across many online gamers who are paranoid about sharing their personal information online. And for good reason too. Back in 2004, while I was coaching sports in Taunton I received a phone call from my bank informing me that my credit card had been used to purchase artwork from a gallery in Spain. The bill was a whopping €8,000. I explained to my bank that I was nowhere near Spain and that it was obviously identity theft/credit card fraud. With that in mind, I can fully empathize with players who wish to remain as anonymous as possible. That’s where e-Wallets come into the picture. With this option you deposit some funds into a third party account such as Click2Pay and even Neteller. Then you would use that account to fund your online bingo account. For me though, its always been about PayPal. I trust this site and it’s proven itself over the years. PayPal will even give you interest on money you have in your specially set up PayPal account.

I’d love to hear about what your preferred payment processing option is. So drop us a line here at bingo-room.com and share your ideas with us. Until next time, happy bingo gaming folks!
