After logging onto the Internet this morning I was bombarded with spam mails from some online casino that I’d been browsing a couple of days ago. I stand to be corrected: I was searching online casinos for various bingo rooms to review. Many casinos indeed offer bingo gaming categories. Then a Eureka moment hit me – this is a story!
There are two things I like doing more than most: bingo and casino gaming. Of course I enjoy writing about them all too
But on a more serious note, there is much to be learned from working with online casinos, reviewing them, playing at them and so forth. I have gleaned lots of information from top-tier online casinos. While there is a great deal of sameness among them, there are special ones too. The power behind any gaming portal however is its software gaming power source. If you look carefully you’ll note that there are several leading software gaming developers responsible for the vast majority of the prominent online casinos.
These software developers include Playtech, Microgaming and CryptoLogic among others. Each of these groups has its very own global player base and progressive jackpots network. Sure the designs differ and the big casinos put in lots of effort to differentiate their product offering from that of their competition. The marketing varies between ‘Boy I’ve got to sign up here’ to ‘I’ll give it a miss.’ But these audio/visual elements are what separate a good online casino from a great online casino. As I’ve alluded to in my prior posts, always read the wagering requirements. There’s much to learn from the manner in which these entities conduct themselves. Be savvy and scope out before you fork out.
How does this all compare to online bingo rooms?
Let’s just say that online bingo rooms are often – not always – offshoots of popular casino enterprises. While they have mostly become stand-alone entities they do to a degree have their big brother to fall back on for credibility, backing and know-how. But in my opinion that’s where the basic similarities end. That’s because bingo – unlike casino games – is a community based game. I’ve hardly ever seen active player blogging or forum posting or even chat in any online casino portal. This simply doesn’t happen. Bingo rooms are lively and bubbly – as evidenced by their brightly colored sites and happy-go-lucky atmosphere. Many online casinos try to project this snooty veneer of highly polished gentleman, ladies and exotic locales. Bingo is everyone’s game and you’ll feel it the moment you log on!
I’d be thrilled to receive your feedback on what differences or similarities you’ve found between online bingo and online casinos.
