A fabulous day of frightfully exciting entertainment awaits bingo players come October 31st 2010. It’s Halloween and it’s jam-packed with all manner of scary stuff, right out of the imaginations of Hollywood’s creepiest ghoul masters.
Globalization has had a tremendous impact on ‘universalizing’ online gaming (let’s call that word a Jeremization
) because there are many holiday themed bingo games to be played everywhere. Just around the corner is the globally popular themed holiday – Halloween. That’s right bingo gaming fans – this is the big one. I’m pretty pumped about it too. Imagine the euphoria gripping bingo rooms in the UK and the US as this rock-till-you-drop themed game kicks off. It’s no longer the sole preserve of the Americans I must tell you because we Brits too have adopted a fondness for fun. So in the spirit of fun and flair I’d like to propose a little fright-night special for my fans.
How to prepare a fright-night bingo gaming sensation?
When my mates Jessica and Darren reminded me about Halloween coming up this month, I simply had to throw something together in a jiffy. So we pooled our collective minds together and conjured up something simple, yet freakishly ghoulish. Bingo is first and foremost a fun-filled game so let’s say we create a standard 5 X 5 bingo card with either of these themes:
- Halloween movies
- Scariest movie lines
- Freakiest Halloween costumes
- Ghost story bingo theme
- Bonfire bingo evening with candle-lit pumpkins on stakes
Whatever you select – the latter option is most creepy – make sure to keep it clean. Remember even though we’re playing on the horror theme, there’s nothing demonic about anything here – it’s fun and games only. Let’s say you take a background for your cards of a pumpkin (replete with a scary face and candlelit from the inside). That should provide plenty of scares. The bingo caller could be fiendishly attired in the backyard, with a black cape and mask. I’d love to don this gear and call out the clues to fellow players. When you print out the cards, you should always punt the theme of the night – the more into it the players are the more successful the outcome.
90-ball bingo on 9 x 3 cards will do the trick too
Remember that you can make use of the UK gaming favorite – 90 ball bingo cards too. Except this time you’ll need to work with 1 line, 2 lines and a Full House of numbers. It works beautifully for an extended bingo game. Make sure the prizes are lots of sweet and sour candies with eerie music playing in the background. And after the games are done and dusted, maybe you’ll want to go trick or treating with your mates. Don’t go overboard with all the fright-night stuff though as you don’t want to frighten away any of your guests.
If you’re planning on hosting a Halloween-themed bingo event then drop me a line.
