The top 5 bingo naysayers

In the interests of fair and balanced blog commentary I’d love to address some of the issues that are often raised by opponents of bingo gaming. Naturally we as the playing community may not be predisposed to their opinions and ideas, but we should certainly respect them. My work here has led me to uncover a great many benefits to playing bingo – both online and at live events. To the folks who are dead-set against bingo this is what I propose…bingo naysayers

All too often society click together into little groups (or large groups) with shared interests. As a result we are able to achieve common goals and reach specific targets. Big bingo gaming groups allow for a greater sense of community, better prizes and more exciting promotional offers – among others. But there are groups (whether large or small) who are opposed to bingo gaming. It’s only fair that their concerns are noted and addressed. It would be foolhardy to dismiss the opinions of those with whom we disagree – in the bingo community – so I’ve decided to offer some opinions and solutions to questions around bingo gaming.

Typical issues that people raise:

1. “Bingo is a gambling game and should not be played”

While it can certainly be a game that is wagered upon, bingo is not alone in this department. Gambling games have been around since biblical times and beyond (read more about bingo history). Those who are interested in these types of games decide for themselves if they wish to partake, provided it is legally permissible in the gaming jurisdictions. For folks who are of legal age and wish to gamble – this is certainly their prerogative, provided the laws of the country, state or jurisdiction permit. Of course I propose safe and secure gaming and adherence to responsible gaming practices.

2. “Bingo should not be promoted by churches and charities”

This is certainly a contentious point for some folks. However it is these institutions themselves who are permitting bingo gaming. It is certainly not bingo operators forcing their way into church and charity work. On the contrary bingo has been invited in and used as a  tool for community development and charity drives. This indeed has a wonderful effect. Remember that many church games are played in honor of very needy causes. So it really is society that is benefiting from players who can afford to play. It is all free choice.

3. “There is no winning bingo strategy so all articles about strategies are untrue”

This is an area of much debate. While bingo is certainly a game of chance, there are however ways to increase the probability of winning and the enjoyment of the game. I’ve addressed many ways of enhancing bingo play. These include the option of taking more bingo cards, playing at irregular hours to lessen the competitive effect, using bankroll management techniques, using the community aspect of bingo to enhance the gaming and social aspect, using free-bingo gaming to learn the games before you wager and so forth.

Here are some more fundamental bingo bits that you should remember.

4. “You really won’t ever win anything in bingo”

This is certainly not true. Bingo provides for some of the biggest payouts and prizes in the gaming realm. Tickets to movies, concerts, balls, shows, overseas vacations and the like are commonplace. Big promotional activities like cruise-ship vacations abound. Bingo certainly provides many more ways to win than most folks can imagine. And the alacrity with which these prizes pay out is unbelievable.

5. “Bingo-blogs are all about promoting bingo operators”

I’ve fashioned bingo room – my personal blog – on the power of bingo gaming to effect positive change in society. Readers of this blog have responded overwhelming to how much bingo can be used as a charitable tool, an educational tool and a community development mechanism. Bingo-Room covers as much relevant community development content as possible.
