75 Ball Bingo Game

Greetings and salutations from one bingo fan to another. My name is Jeremy Stersky and I’m here to tell you all about 75-Ball Bingo.  I fondly recall when I first played this game; it was back in the summer of 2005. That was when I realized what a fast-paced and thrilling game it really is. 75-Ball bingo is the North American favourite and it has enjoyed a tremendous surge in popularity with the advent of online gaming.

Everywhere I go, people want to know: ‘what is the most widely played and enjoyed variant of online bingo?’ The answer to this question is really simple, because it’s generally a choice between 75-ball bingo and 90-ball bingo. Now I realize that doesn’t quite cut it, so the follow up question is invariably: ‘what part of the world do you come from?’ That’s the clincher, because as I said, the 75-ball variety is the North American favorite.

Indeed bingo gaming overall – from the United Kingdom to the United States and continental Europe – is enjoying a remarkable spike in popularity. The game needs no introduction as it was played by our grandparents and theirs before them. Bingo truly is the common thread that binds one generation to another. The bingo phenomenon has also gained considerable acclaim in Australasia, South America and even South Africa. But the best is yet to come.

Step right up and enjoy the pace of 75-ball bingo

The inimitable 75-ball bingo is the home favorite of Americans and Canadians. But make no error, this gaming variant is fast gaining acceptance at bingo rooms across the United Kingdom too as players scramble to uncover their many gaming options. In the 75-ball bingo version, there are bingo cards made up of 5 horizontal and 5 vertical columns. In the center of the 25 squares grid that is formed, is a free space. Interestingly enough it is this square that forms an essential component of the winning pattern and players are permitted to mark it off accordingly.

Forming winning combos

I always advise bingo players to know their options when it comes to forming winning combinations. Naturally this should be checked prior to going into games. Luckily for you guys, the rules are pretty straightforward and the process overall is simple.

As stated, there is a grid of 25 squares that allows for multiple winning combinations (5×5 grid of numbers called a card).example of 75 ball bingo card

Note that the winning combos really depend on the themes of the game in progress or the particular promotion being run. 75-ball bingo allows for a multitude of winning patterns to be enjoyed by completing them on the respective bingo card. And to add some icing to the cake, a winning game of 75-ball bingo pays off handsomely.

It’s random and it’s all good

This is the part I love best about the game – actually playing it.  At the very top of the bingo card is the word B–I–N–G–O. Each of the letters is printed above each vertical column. Note that the letters are allocated according to each column – starting from the far left and moving across to the right. Each column – let’s just use ‘B’ for example – will be allocated 15 numbers between 1 and 75. It’s done according to the B-I-N-G-O formula where

  • B gets 1-15
  • I gets 16-30
  • N gets 31-45
  • G gets 46-60
  • O gets 61-75

That’s 75 balls of Bingo gaming magic. Now that that’s out of the way, it’s all about filling up as many squares as is needed to win the game.

Part of the bingo family

More good news is that online bingo is exactly the same as land-based games. Online bingo however is far more automated and players are less likely to err as they are in live events. 75-ball bingo is not really all that different from its 80 or 90 ball bingo – it’s faster paced all right and it’s at the forefront of bingo room offerings, but it’s equally as fun.

In many respects the games share similar playing features except for some very rudimentary differences. These include the most obvious – 75 numbers as opposed to 80 or even 90 in the other versions of the game. And the bingo card is a little different too. But aside from that, an unsuspecting observer would be none the wiser. The winning patterns in this variant include four corners, one line and a T pattern.

But that’s not all because there are a multitude of possible winning combinations including heart shapes, letters and numbers. It’s interesting to note that when a full bingo board is covered – all 75 numbers – the name it is known by is a coverall. And playing the game is a cinch. That’s because each number that gets covered by the electronic bingo dauber is one number closer to forming a winning combination.

Fast gaining acceptance abroad

As you know, I’m a self-styled bingo player. But it wasn’t always that way. I too started off playing 90-ball bingo and only that. Once I was introduced to the more rapid 75-ball bingo game I was immediately smitten. Now this game has been adopted in the UK and indeed Europe. It’s winning over traditional 90-ball bingo fans, owing to its faster and livelier pace and more exciting gaming action. Players including me just love the classic 5×5 bingo cards that are used in this game. In fact this is really what comes to mind when a player thinks of bingo.
