I’d be lying if I told you that I’d never played bingo during my formative years. Indeed this game has deep roots in the Stersky household. I remember playing the game for fun with my folks many, many years ago. To think that my fascination with the game has only grown is a fitting testament to the unbelievable appeal of bingo gaming. A great way to introduce youngsters to fun bingo gaming is at school. Here’s how to go about it.
If your teenage kids are interested in introducing their mates to bingo and they want to do it at school, there are many ways to get started. Foremost in this undertaking is the permission of the school board, principal or governing body. That’s the starting point. Without the board’s permission this venture has gone belly-up before you’ve gotten out of the starting blocks. I know several parents who’ve put tremendous planning into bingo evenings – only to have the school advisory committee rejecting these ideas out of hand.
After you’ve got your ‘green light’ then it’s time to consider your ideal bingo-gaming venue. I’ve found that halls are great – but school assembly halls often lack chairs and tables. So if you’re lucky you’ll be able to host your swathe evening in the dining hall. That way you’ll not only be close to the kitchen for serving snacks and refreshments, but you’ll also be able to make the most of the kitchen’s clean-up facilities J (This is important – especially if you’re thinking of hosting large numbers of people).
Beyond the ‘yes’ are many more variables
Now that you’ve got permission to host your games at a specific venue, you’re going to need equipment and lots of it. We’re talking random number bingo generators (even manually operated instruments will work) as well as bingo cards, boards, daubers and screens. These are the essential tools in any bingo aficionado’s gaming kit. Be doubly sure that your gaming day does not interfere with big sporting/cultural or religious events. That way your pounds will stretch much farther. If you’re going to bring in lots of folks, you can charge them to enter your bingo games too. Remember that you’re going to need to pay for prizes, expenses and help.
Get people into the community swing of things by having them donate as much as possible – for prizes. You can go cheap and have hampers with chocolates and sweets, or you can go a little more on the ritzy side with concert tickets, movie tickets, restaurant dinners or the like. It’s your call and it probably will be accepted by players either way. It’s always a very good idea to have as many helpers as necessary to assist you. With a crowd of 25 or more people things can get rowdy and messy. So stay alert, bring in help and keep them bingo gaming until the early hours of the morning. To this end you’ll want to stay stocked up on refreshments and snacks.
If your kids have enjoyed bingo evenings at school then write in to me by submitting a comment.

These are really successful in my district. I have enjoyed many social bingo evenings at school with an emphasis charity and community development. These are popular and I support them.
Social bingo is the only one I know. This is wildly popular to play.
I play bingo online – don’t really play it in the school district. It’s very cold now in Moscow but we enjoy the game. With vodka and popcorn we play bingo – perestroika!
I like to play but NEVER in schools – it is not legal in Egypt for gambling game.
Hi there guys and girls,
Thanks for your feedback on Bingo-Room – much appreciated -
Keep it up
Jeremy Stersky
Playing bingo in schools is a really cool way to enjoy this game. I’ve loved this way of playing the game that I really love most. I love 90 ball bingo the most. School games are really exciting.
That’s pretty sweet Jeremy! I’m a fellow bingo gamer too. I’ve often enjoyed the pleasure of bingo gaming for a long time. 75 ball bingo and 90 ball bingo are great games. Here’s the magic word – ‘BINGO’ I love that game. Terrific!
They gamble in schools now Jerry – that’s wack!:
Not in my district they don’t!
Word on the street is that this game is ruling the school halls at nights – they even serve chilled beer to the parents – lets get this party started lol
In bingo you play with numbers between 1 and 90 – now I play with numbers that can change families’ fortunes forever
That’s a jolly idea and a jolly good one at that
I used to play bingo at my son’s high school. I won a Kenwood coffee machine.
The school board has to approve this first right?
Hello fans and friends of bingo-room.com,
Yes it is certainly true that the school board should approve this all first. That is correct. And it is not the school children engaging in bingo gaming, it is the parents. They are the ones donating time, effort and money for the purposes of community development initiatives. Thanks for your feedback and keep it coming,
Jeremy Stersky

The school system is good way to get the education stronger. I like very good this system.
Pictures of Jeremy? Where are they – you’re on Facebook I see.
I have been to many bingo evenings at school. Here in my neck of the woods we call it Bingo Fetes or bingo nights. They usually raise money for funding a school activity or project such as a much-needed media centre or even a Derby Day event. Lots of fun and I really enjoy these.
I’ve been very interested in playing bingo for a long time. What I liked about playing the game at my high school was that it was done in a community-style atmosphere with good intent. That’s the beauty of it. Well I know that it’s really easy to get the games going and make a positive contribution to the community.
That’s right Kevin – totally correct. We strive to play the game in the spirit of community gaming and that requires that we focus on the well-being of one another all the time.
Take it easy and remember to call out ‘bingo’ in times to come
Jeremy
